From grimey L – “Aural Kaleidoscope is my first production project. Its an experiment in learning my own production techniques, qualities and downfalls. On about half of the tracks, I chose the artist that I wanted featured on it. The other half were chosen by the artist. The name of the project should be pretty self descriptive, but for those that don’t comprehend….Aural Kaleidoscope basically translates to Audio Variety. I don’t necessarily have a ‘style’ when it comes to making beats. I think this is both a quality and a fault. I could probably become more proficient at creating instrumentals if I ‘picked a lane.’ However, I enjoy having the ability to be versatile and not limit myself to a particular sound or style. It also allows me to work with more artists, in different styles/genres of music. Two of the tracks on the project are trip-hop, whereas the rest are more hip-hop influenced.
